Notable Project

Avocado Mate

The journey of my avocado ripeness detector started in my first year, inspired by my love for avocados. I often faced disappointment when they were either too ripe or rock hard—far from the perfect breakfast.

I used the skills from my coursework to build a sensor that detects avocado ripeness by measuring ethylene levels, an indicator of ripeness. The system uses electrochemical sensors and integrates with an ESP32 board via Apache, PHP, Linux, and MySQL for seamless communication.

My hard work paid off when I entered a startup competition organized by “Cactus Capital.” Competing against 37 innovative startups, I was thrilled to take home 1st place and a prize of 10,000 NIS for my avocado ripeness detector. This experience not only validated my efforts but also ignited my passion for developing practical solutions through technology.
